Godwin Aja (Treasurer)

Godwin Nwadibia Aja is a Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Public Health, Graduate School of the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies, Philippines. He has a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree from Loma Linda University School of Public Health, California, and a Master’s degree in Community Health from the University of Calabar, Nigeria. He previously served as professor and head of the Department of Public Health at Babcock University, Nigeria.

Prof. Aja has 25 years of experience in public health teaching, research and community service at the University level. He has several academic publications to his credit, in the area of health promotion, specifically on women's health, adolescent health, community health, HIV/AIDS and malaria prevention and control, health asset mapping, health communication, among others. He is the author of Use of Medicine by Women (one of the modules in the Women and Health Learning Package (WHLP)), and the lead author of ABC of Women's Health: A Handbook for Girls.

He served as Temporary Advisor, WHO International Dialogue on Evidence-Action for Improving Health in Developing Countries (IDEA-Health) and WHO Department of Reproductive Health and Research. He was a member of the Cochrane Collaboration Steering Group. He is a fellow of the Global Health through Education, Training and Service (GHETS). Currently, he is the Africa representative on the executive board of The Network: Towards Unity for Health.
