Who we are

Committed women and men from diverse professions: academics, community organizers and activists from over 22 countries who educate, advocate and implement programs to improve women’s health around the globe.

WHTF began in 1991 as a task force of The Network: TUFH and continues its support. In 2003, GHETS began providing financial support to increase our impact. In 2018 we incorporated in the Republic of South Africa.

Our programs

Work with communities to learn women’s perspectives about what they want and need Help by mentoring women to become leaders in health Teach health professions’ students the knowledge and skills needed to meet women’s needs and respect their right Fund skills development of community women to assess their problems and improve health care and development.

Publications: Access to WHTF publications to stay informed about important global women’s health issues through scientific research and case studies.

Annual Meetings:  Invitation to annual         meetings that provide a venue for the presentation  of scientific papers.

Professional Development: Workshop and training opportunities

Business Meetings & Committees: Opportunities  for participation in policy and decision making of WHTF.

Grants: Access to seed grants to implement research and interventions to empower women in your community.

Judy Lewis WHTF Founding Member receives APHA Life time Achievement Award

Prof. Judy Lewis has served in many leadership positions in global and local health. In 2018 she received the Carl E. Taylor Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Health Section of the American Public Health Association, honoring the visionaries and leaders who have shaped the direction of international health.
